What is a COLA?
A cost-of-living adjustment. Each year Social Security and SSI payments rise to keep up with prices. It's based on inflation from July to September, and it's automatic.
Why did my SNAP change if my income didn't?
SNAP maximum allotments are adjusted each October for inflation. Your benefit may change even if nothing else in your situation changed.
Does the Medicaid work rule apply to me?
Only if you are 19 to 64, on a Medicaid expansion plan, and in a state that has applied for a work requirement waiver. Children, pregnant people, and many others are exempt.
