When to claim Social Security
For people born in 1960 or later, full retirement age is 67. Claiming earlier lowers your monthly amount for life; waiting past 67 raises it until 70.
At full retirement age you get 100% of your benefit.
Estimate only, in today's dollars. Excludes spousal benefits, earnings limits before 67 and future cost-of-living increases. Source: SSA retirement age rules.
Only the agency can decide what you get. Use these to plan and to know what to ask.

Social Security each January, SNAP each October.
